Election Mail Workflow: Designing for Visibility, Accountability and Resilience
This presentation explores election mail as an end-to-end workflow rather than simply a printing and mailing process. Using real-world vote-by-mail experience, it follows the ballot journey from voter record and ballot issuance through production, unique Intelligent Mail barcodes, USPS induction and visibility, return tracking, election-office receipt, exception handling and final reconciliation.
The session also examines how election officials can evaluate mail service providers, reduce operational risk, and use USPS data and workflow technology to create stronger audit trails and greater visibility…..particularly for small and midsize jurisdictions that may not have access to sophisticated election-mail systems.
